Bigmail

If your file is too large for our email servers you can use Bigmail:
Bigmail is a webbased application to upload data to our servers that informs the recipients by utf-8-encoded email how to download the data.

If your browser supports HTML5 you can upload files of any size, otherwise there are browser-based limits.

In this context "members" are students and employees of TU Graz. Non-members can send data only to members and have to be verified by an email-TAN.

If you use your own address as recipient's address you can use the link you get for other emails and you are not "dependent" upon this interface.

Bigmail will store the data for 30 days.

If you want to specify more than one recipient, please separate them by commas.

The "language used for notification" defines the language for the email that is sent to all of the recipients.

All HTML and JavaScript tags will be removed from any input fields.

Incoming / External

Recipient's MX resource record has to point to TU Graz' mailgates.
Only the sender email address is verified by our TAN system (valid within two calender days CE(S)T - so actually it is no TAN but a PIN with limited validity).
It is necessary to solve a CAPTCHA, first.

English version of email:

There are files for you from name at bigmail.TUGraz.at. The sender has not been verified by us - don't open the files if you are not expecting data, because they have not been checked for malware! Outgoing / Members

Users have to log in to authenticate. You can use a username and a password for stronger protection of your data. Data will not be encrypted but you will have to know the exact URL and this username and password, too, to get access to this data.
You can choose between sending this credentials within the same email, in a separate email or not to send them. If you choose not to send them you will have to tell the recipients by yourself.

The script will not allow to use your own username, but please don't use your own password because it will be be sent to the recipient(s)!

The sender will get a similar email, using the language of the interface (not necessarily the language chosen for the recipients' email).

Setting "Deleteable" to "yes" will display a link to all recipients that will remove the files from server. Attention: The first recipient will be able to delete the files!

Outdated versions of Internet Explorer (maybe IE in compatibility mode) are not supported! Please update your Internet Explorer or deactivate compatibility mode or use some other browser!

ASCII characters with special importance for the file system (like ".", "/" and space) within the file names will be replaced by "_", non-ASCII characters are not allowed.

Many Files

It is possible to upload a bunch of files in one go, but it is not that easy to download it.
So if you upload more than 10 files a zip file of all these files will be generated and linked to the info page instead of all the single files.

There is a similar service provided by ACOnet for members of ACOnet Identity Federation: filesender.aco.net. Members of TU Graz are members of this federation.
